Hearing Doctors’ New Location in Santa Clara, UT!

Hearing & Balance Doctors is excited to announce the opening of a new clinic location in Santa Clara, Utah. The new clinic is now officially open as of April 1st, 2019 and will be an extension of our long-standing home office in St. George.

The new office is located at 1100 North Canyon View Drive in the same office as Zion Eye Institute. This new location will help us better serve our patients in Santa Clara, Ivins, and the surrounding area. As a clinic, we have always embraced the philosophy that we want to have locations close to our patients—we would rather travel to you than have you travel to us.

Who Are Hearing & Balance Doctors

This philosophy of serving our community has been evident since the early days of our practice. Dr. Richard Luekenga originally established our clinic in St. George in 2005. Our main office was located on Flood Street, near the old hospital, with satellite offices in Mesquite, Cedar City, and Richfield.

Dr. Luekenga’s goal was to establish the most comprehensive hearing and balance clinic in the entire region. From the first day, the clinic provided not only premier hearing aid services, but also comprehensive diagnostic testing for hearing, dizziness, and tinnitus. Our clinic has always specialized in diagnosing and treating patients of all ages, from birth to over 100 years old.

The clinic was immediately successful, and soon, in 2009 and 2010, new doctors joined the group, including Dr. Ryan Whitaker, and the practice expanded to include locations in Henderson and Boulder City, Nevada.

Our Nevada locations are currently operated by Dr. Laurie Turner. In 2011, we moved our home office to our current location on Riverside Drive in St. George. In 2017, a clinic location in Hurricane opened allowing us to better serve our patients in Hurricane, LaVerkin, Virgin, and Springdale. In 2019, in addition to opening our new location in Santa Clara, we also expect to add a new doctor to our team: Dr. Rachael Gehmlich.

Our Commitment To Providing Quality Hearing Aids

As our clinics have expanded over the years, the available technology to better help our patients have also improved. In 2005, when our hearing clinic doors first opened, the majority of hearing aids were large, bulky, prone to feedback, and not very durable.

Many of our patients appreciated being able to hear better but were embarrassed by the size and appearance of the hearing aids. Fast forward to 2019, and hearing aids are small, sleek, have little feedback, and are water- and dust-resistant.

In addition, most hearing aids now can connect wirelessly to smartphones allowing for personalized adjustments from an app on the phone as well as direct streaming of audio—like music, phone calls, and audiobooks—from iPhones to the hearing aids.

Some modern hearing aids also have rechargeable batteries, eliminating the need to frequently change out the small and sometimes hard-to-handle batteries. We, as doctors of audiology, are more successful than ever before in selecting and fitting appropriate devices for our patients, as we continue to research and bring in the best hearing technology for our patients.
